Annie Shapiro

Annie is the VP of Platform at Inspired Capital. Prior to Inspired, she was a Director of Marketing at Namely, the HR tech startup.
Annie has spent the past 15 years in the New York tech ecosystem, operating at all stages throughout the startup lifecycle. She has deep experience in marketing—across both consumer and B2B—with a focus on brand messaging and communications that align to strategic goals.
At Inspired, Annie’s full focus is on partnering across the portfolio to help supercharge founders with resources, introductions, and advice. She is inherently a connector of people and loves to bring the Inspired network together in creative and productive ways. Since 2019, she has produced Inspired’s weekly award-winning podcast, For Starters with Alexa von Tobel, featuring the top entrepreneurs across the globe. In 2021, she joined the VC Platform Global Community as a Board Member and currently serves as Vice President of the Board.

Annie began her career as one of the first employees at LearnVest, the financial planning startup founded by Alexa von Tobel. At LearnVest, she did a “tour of duty,” with experience spanning marketing, product, and business development. As the Brand Marketing Manager, she led the company through milestones including sold-out LearnVest Live events across the country, the launch of New York Times-bestselling book Financially Fearless, and the announcement of LearnVest’s acquisition by Northwestern Mutual.
Annie earned an A.B. in Art History and Italian from Princeton University.
